Small shifts that rekindle you (or your brand’s) spark

5 ways to feel more alive in your work – no incense, marathons, or drastic life changes required

(but I defintely have nothing against any of these...!)

1. Decide, then design

Stop circling the question “Who are we?” and just decide – who do you want to be next?

Momentum doesn’t come from endless strategy decks; it starts with a single, confident choice.

Once you decide, design can finally do its job: to make that choice visible, tangible, and magnetic.

(Think of it as choosing your outfit before you plan the party.)

2. The 5-Second Rule for bravery (‘Go brave!’ we say in Trinidad)

Before you talk yourself out of launching that new campaign, posting that idea, or finally refreshing that logo, count down: 5-4-3-2-1… do it (à la Mel Robbins)

The trick isn’t being fearless, it’s acting before your fear starts negotiating terms. Don’t wait to be so polished. (this post case in point)

Momentum builds confidence. Confidence builds connection.

3. Choose curiosity over control

When things stall – the campaign, the client, the courage – ask: What’s this here to teach me?

Curiosity turns friction into insight. Control just turns it into a headache.

The most engaging brands (and people) are those still asking better questions.

4. Talk like a human

Corporate jargon is the creative equivalent of cling film – it contains what’s fresh.

Whether you’re pitching to investors or briefing your team, talk like someone who’s been outside recently.

The more honest your language, the faster people trust you, and the easier it becomes to sell, inspire, and lead. (Also, “synergy” has retired. Please let it rest.)

5. Find your micro-Jouvay

You don’t need Carnival to feel alive (though, highly recommended).

Look for small daily bursts of joy – a five-minute a walk without your phone, a laugh with your team. Just get up and move. The physicality of moving your body can change your state, and refresh a viewpoint. (just don’t call me Tony Robbins). Those moments reset your nervous system, sharpen perspective, and remind you why you started.

(If all else fails, pet a cat named Noushig – he’s available on a day rate + VAT ;–)

In short:

  • You don’t need to rebuild your brand or your life overnight.

  • You just need to move, a little. And repeat. Daily.

  • That’s how habits become beliefs, and just watch that shift….

Enjoy.
